This week saw the launch of the newly refurbished Members Lounge at Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester.
Right at the heart of Manchester, this award winning Royal Exchange Theatre spans five decades (probably the reason behind the face-lift) and is home to some great productions from classic writers such as William Shakespeare and Oscar Wilde.
In late January we were approached by Ruth Paterson, Development Manager of the Theatre to help with the makeover. “… the original wooden panelled board room from when the theatre building started life as a Cotton Exchange is a lovely space, but in need of a refresh.” Ruth Paterson.
Certain areas of the lounge had started to feel dark and dated, whilst the original wood panelled walls where loved by many visitors, the room needed a lift. We were delighted to be involved in the makeover and become the official Lighting Supporter for the Members’ Lounge. The new room was unveiled on 25th February 2013 coinciding with the first night performance of To Kill a Mockingbird.
With a little help from us the lounge has been given a new lease of life, 6 of our Global Pendants in Champagne where suspended along the main ceiling and the mezzanine, our funky Hollywood Floor Lamps lit up the main wall and fire place and our state of the art LED Colour Changing strip light was chosen to up-light the wood panelling, spotlight bars were also chosen for the entrance hall and stairwell.
Our in-house photographer Daniel Drury went along and took some beautiful snaps.
We love the use of our LED Colour Changing strip light to up-light the wood panelling.
