Keeping with our mustard yellow theme this week, what better place to focus our Litecraft City Guide on than the über swanky, mustard filled Neighbourhood Bar & Eatery. Set in the trendy Avenue North corridor of Spinningfields in Manchester, this beautiful establishment has taken on a Rough Luxe theme of Industrial New York steakhouse mixed with glossy, sculptured fine dining, creating a stunning dining experience. The eatery hosts breakfast, brunch and evening dinner daily whilst also offering a selection of ‘tailored to your taste’ cocktails.
Split over two levels, the establishment consists of a bar area, cosy intimate booths to the back, an open plan dining area on the ground floor and a mezzanine dining area above, all sections are partitioned with stunning glass shelving and piped lighting features.
Against a backdrop of white-washed exposed brick and clean industrial white ceilings you will notice an array of elegant and arty glass pendants suspended from the ceiling giving an almost artistic and sculptural essence. The distinct blown glass pendants give a glossy ambience over the bar and dining area and bounce light against the metallic bar area. A stunning 16 seater booth greets you at the main door intimately situated under a fantastic pendant of blue clustered blow glass lights as well as a stunning piped lighting feature that curves around the exclusive booth.
The main colour scheme throughout the establishment focuses on mustard yellows with hints of a deep teal blue. The yellow tones give a warm feeling to the interior and works great against the blown glass smoky gold lighting and gold lit back drop behind the bar. The mixture of industrial with glossy works well in such a trendy area that is The Avenue and Spinningfields as a whole.
To incorporate a Rough Luxe theme into your home stick to an industrial backdrop such as exposed brick walls or rustic white washed wood panelling then concentrate on elaborate lighting as your main feature. Cluster lights and blown glass pendant are ideal as a focal point to any room. This look would be great in a hallway with a high ceiling, add an extravagant light that will cascade down through the stairwell. Then choose bulbous accent lighting such as glass based table lamps and hurricane candle holders to complete the glossy glass look. Our Nakita 6 Light Tiered Ceiling Pendant is ideal for stairwells and high ceiling hallways and features a blown glass effect in a sultry smoked finish. Add pops of mustard through the use of ornaments and soft furnishings, yellow tinted glass vases and ornaments are great to fill up forgotten spaces. For furniture choose a mustard tone reading chair as a feature but for everyday furniture go for a deeper tone such as black or brown leather. Our look book below gives a little more inspiration on how to recreate this look on a smaller scale.
