On a cold winter evening what better way to warm up your belly and get your toes toasty warm than with a good hearty piece of grilled steak. After the hustle and bustle of the Christmas Markets last week we needed somewhere cosy to rest our worn out feet, so we decided on this little treat nestled down a side street off South King Street. Another of Living Ventures successful eateries The Grill on the Alley is known for it's juicy steaks,  succulent burgers and yummy cocktail menu.

A cosy little place with low lit lighting and comfy booths, you're sure to get a warm treat. On arrival you're greeted with a soft industrial décor, brown exposed brick against a low ambience creates a warm welcome in contrast to usually harsher surroundings. The atmosphere is made furthermore cosy with deep wood seating and leather upholstered booths. Smoke fills the air around the open kitchen which makes for an altogether rustic experience and a hint out city-life indoors.

The bar in The Grill on the Alley area consists of an industrial zinc surface with a back bar showcasing a wide selection of wines and spirits illuminated by LED style strip lights. The main lighting is very minimalistic with single pendant spotlights suspended in clusters over each table.

Most of the lighting is low and subtle but opposite the bar is an open balcony revealing the lower ground floor boasts a stunning installation of filament bulbs suspended on different length cables dangling down through to the lower level floor, a great feature that definitely makes up for the lack of lighting. To finish off this spectacular installation, a funky neon style sign spelling out the restaurants name can be seen on the large scale bare brick wall behind. For a hint of festive cheer, a garland of green foliage is wrapped along the balcony with red and gold baubles entwined.

Living Ventures have yet again succeeded with another popular establishment for the City Centre, bang on trend with an industrial look whilst maintaining a cosy and warm feel enough for a welcoming visit.
