Whether it's especially for the festive season or just a general makeover, this theme will take you straight through Autumn and Winter into Spring.

Think of Winter Wonderland and images of snowy mountains, icy glaciers and frost sprinkled trees spring to mind, but when it comes to the home, this look can sometimes be a little too cold. At Christmas time especially, it's best to let the cold out and keep the warmth in, so this year we've updated our Winter Wonderland theme by adding cosier tones and gone for a more subtle ambience, think alpine lodge meets icy igloo.

When pulling this look together you can still choose crisp whites and chrome light fittings, but instead of just clear crystal droplets add champagne or amber tones for depth and ambience. Crystal Chandeliers are perfect for this look as the crystal droplets bounce light around the room creating a sparkling effect throughout. Cream brushed light fittings also work great in breaking up the coldness of the Winter Wonderland look whilst adding a hint of warmness. For accessories choose glass and crystal ornaments, silver vases with faded cream roses will compliment the softer champagne tones of the crystals. Add fairy lights or soft feather boa string lights around mirrors and on mantelpieces for extra layering and ambience.

Whilst frosty accessories, opal glass delights and sharp crystal glass are the key element for the Winter Wonderland trend, you'll need to soften the look with more fabrics and textures. Choose faux furs, feathers and other fabrics to add layering, layering is essential with this particular trend. Pull together neutral creams, beige and grey tones, faux fur prints such as leopard will add a warm cosy experience. Build up layers of throws and scatter cushions on couches and place a cosy faux fur rug in front of the fire.

If you're more of a glamour-puss then go for a sprinkle of sparkle with glitter and sequins.  Silver fittings and cutlery will add a contemporary twist to the theme.
