PIR Garden Lights - Light up the outside of your home with outdoor security lighting from Litecraft. The most effective way to deter unwanted intruders from your home and keep your outdoor spaces safe and secure.   Many security lights are fitted with automatic controls called PIR sensors. These motion sensor lights detect movement in your garden or outdoor space and once movement is detected, they will activate automatically. This has two benefits – it instantly illuminates the dark space and deters the intruder. It also alerts people inside the home to movement outside. Litecraft have a wide range of PIR sensor security lights available.    LED security lights are a great option, because LED bulbs use less energy to produce light. This means that LED lights are more energy efficient and cost efficient than other types of bulb.   Security lights and garden lights come in a range of styles to suit the outside of your home and your outdoor fixtures. If you like a traditional look, choose a classic lantern style wall light in black or white. For contemporary homes, we have a range of sleek chrome, steel and black plastic lights. Litecraft also stock a range of standard flood lights and twinspot security lights to illuminate your outdoor spaces.   When buying security lights for your home, think about where it is best placed. The most common place to fix security lights is the back wall of the house to illuminate the garden, but also consider fixing one above the garage if you store expensive bikes and equipment in there. When fitting them, make sure to install the light at least 2 metres from the ground, to keep it out of reach from tampering.    IP Rated Security Lights   All outdoor lighting needs to be weatherproof, to protect the inner electrical components from damage and to ensure safety. To make sure that it is adequately protected, check the IP rating. IP rating refers to the Ingress Protection of a light fitting, which tells you the level of protection against water and dust (or soil) ingress. For outdoor lighting, a minimum IP rating of IP44 is required.   Browse our full range online, or find out more with our Guide to Outdoor Security Lighting.
