Now, Litecraft, the countries largest lighting company, has teamed up with the Lighting Association and the Energy Saving Trust to sell high quality branded Philips energy efficient light bulbs throughout the UK at just 79p per light bulb.

This subsidised price tag has been achieved by some of the UKs leading energy companies working together in a bid to reduce global temperatures from their projected rise over the next century of between 1.8 and 4 degrees centigrade. Powergen and the Lighting Association set up the energy efficient lamps scheme in 2005 to establish a competitive route to market for energy efficient lamps. This has resulted in some of the industry's leading brands being available at low prices.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY FACTS:

In most homes, lighting accounts for 10 to 15 percent of the electricity bill, with UK households annually spending £1.2 billion on lighting. Every energy saving light bulb will save around £7 a year and yet UK households currently have, on average, only 2 energy saving light bulbs each. By being energy efficient we can reduce our energy needs and reduce our contribution to climate change.
