Modern Sapphire Square 1 Gang 3 Pin Plug Socket 2 Amp in Antique Brass

More commonly found in countries that were originally electrified by the British, this type D socket is a specialist plug socket now used only for certain dedicated lighting areas such as stage and theatre lighting. They are no longer used in Britain for general electrical appliances, even though they are still permitted by the UK wiring regulations, so can sometimes be found in centrally switched domestic lighting circuits, in order to distinguish them from normal power circuits.
